General Summary:

Dell’s Product, Content & Search (PCS) team is hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead the Search strategy for Dell Technologies. The Senior Product Manager will be accountable to all Search stakeholders across Dell Technologies. This individual will build and manage a product backlog based on conversations with their stakeholders and facilitate discussions about requirements and changing priorities. Based on this negotiated backlog of requests, they support the Engineering team’s end-to-end efforts to deliver solutions and value-add product data application capabilities.

The Senior Product Manager will be operating within a dynamic, fast-paced, and agile IT development environment. We are looking for candidates with broad IT leadership and the depth of experience to evolve the PCS team’s application suite within IT. The ideal candidate will be a strong collaborator and communicator who can handle adversity and manage conversations with both business and IT partners effectively.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Defines and analyzes problems and opportunities, actively engages in stakeholder conversations providing actionable recommendations on how to optimize the business of IT

  • Helps the PCS Team with business context to define, formulate, and validate end to end capabilities

  • Defines and manages a prioritized product backlog roadmap

  • Leads presentation of project work, development activities, and results/findings to key stakeholders

  • Responsible for writing user stories, peer reviews of other backlogs and stories

  • Negotiates acceptance criteria for work results, negotiates release schedule, and accepts/rejects work of the team

  • Performs market research on industry standards and best practices


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business or related field with 8+ years relevant experience; Master’s degree with 6+ years experience; or equivalent professional experience

  • 8+ years of relevant IT project, product, reporting and analytics experience

  • Experience with two of the following: lean startup methodologies, agile development methodologies, working directly with clients

  • Experience with site search usability, optimization, and associated technologies

  • Experience shipping successful products, including defining vision, strategy, outcome-driven product roadmaps and creating and managing backlogs

  • Experience articulating and testing product hypotheses

  • Demonstrated ability to define and track KPIs and other measurable success criteria

  • Experience working within and across global teams and stakeholder groups

  • Experience in Agile development

  • Deep user empathy and strong user experience sensibilities

  • Experience closely collaborating with engineers and designers as part of small co-located teams

  • Demonstrated ability to get things done in a rapidly changing environment

  • Ability to break down complex problems into actionable steps

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to adapt your communication style for the audience

  • Ability to facilitate collaborative decision-making in a workshop context

  • Ability to quickly understand a specific client domain and identify the trends and opportunities in that space

  • Adept at handling adversity, tactful in conversations with executive leadership and operational leads alike

  • Strong presentation, leadership, business influence, and project management skills

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US with no restrictions; visa sponsorship not offered with this position
