The With IBM Platform Business Manager, Digital Business Group will support the Vice President of Digital Partnerships / Developer Ecosystems / New Markets to ensure IBM is playing a proactive and strategic role to attract independent software vendors (ISVs) with a full self-service offering. This individual will be responsible for owning the end to end digital experience, business model, industry-specific offerings and outreach work that will underpin development of partnerships that scale without the need for face to face interactions to reach new markets. This individual will need to have an understanding of the ISV adoption of artificial intelligence, data management, and cloud platform technologies. The With IBM Platform Business Manager, Digital Business Group will be our “in-house expert” on ISVs, digital experience, owning financial targets, competitive benchmarking, economic modeling and industry research to develop our long term digital ISV strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the development of a long-term vision for IBM’s technology independent software vendors partnership landscape and strategy

  • Understand current technology trends in health, federal, and financial services sectors.

  • Develop economic models to price and package offerings for ISVs to maximize long term profit growth – while minimizing the offering time to market.

  • Lead adjacent offering managers by demonstrating results early and often; ultimately influencing roadmaps without direct authority.

  • Evaluate and prioritize partner offerings from a strategic, time-to-market and financial perspective; conduct early diligence on ISV market segments to evaluate adoption rates, including business cases and KPI's.

  • Inform IBM Digital Business Group roadmaps based on partner offering priorities and technology landscape; help create collaboration between IBM and the Global Partnership Group to land and expand ISVs into long term strategic partnerships.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Inform IBM Digital Business Group roadmaps based on partner offering priorities and technology landscape; to articulate and prioritize platform requirements working with key digital platforms squads to effectively deliver revenue numbers

  • Self-motivated, work independent, comfortable working in a fast paced, continually changing environment

  • Ability to think three steps ahead to define objectives and develop frameworks to achieve success; capacity to use data to frame and solve problems and logically “connect the dots” across multiple digital touchpoints

  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills including financial modeling

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple tasks in parallel

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external business partners

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Experience leading an agile development, marketing, sales and offering team to deliver ISV offerings on a digital platform.

  • Extensive design experience and product management experience

  • Cloud software sales and business development experience with an ability to identify and influence a core set of partners who want to be leaders in digital transformation

  • Significant ISV Sales and Strategic Partnership development

  • Creation and execution of digital partner plans and programs

Position is located in either San Francisco or New York City.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 3+ years in ISV relationship management.

  • 5+ years digital and brand marketing experience

  • Personal qualities which include a high sense of urgency, results orientation, assertiveness, and professionalism.

  • Strong service orientation with project management skills and a natural ability to proactively resolve problems.

  • Excellent public speaking skills complemented by exceptional written and oral skills, along with strong organizational abilities.

  • Well-developed communication and people skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with our ISV partners and IBM’s internal resources.

  • Ability to operate under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • 7+ years in ISV relationship management.

  • 7+ years digital and brand marketing experience

  • Experience with Salesforce
