Manages the daily operations of imaging services.
Plans and implements the overall diagnostic imaging policies, procedures, and services for several departments which may include nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, computer-assisted tomography and ultrasound.
Assesses quality of patient care and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments.
Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, conflict management and other job related issues. Oversees scheduling, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
Oversees the monitoring of departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
Manages relationships and conducts planning with site-specific physician groups and with network-based physicians as needed. Serves as a specialty consultant to the community at large.
Participates in development of long and short-range strategic business plans, goals and objectives. Identifies and recommends site-based marketing plans based on observed trends in new and existing services, innovation, technology and reimbursement. Works closely with peers to ensure standardized equipment, supplies and practice for all sites, as applicable. Identifies and analyzes the design of jobs, work processes and flows for the department and implements appropriate.
Participates in the development and administration of both long-term and annual capital plans which include facilities, systems and equipment. Implements and monitors compliance with revenue integrity processes. Insures timely and accurate processing of invoices.
Implements specialty quality initiatives in the areas of patient safety, the Joint Commission, specialty accreditation and performance improvement in alignment with network specialty plan and promotes specialty knowledge sharing. Serves as specialty consultant to site quality and accreditation initiatives. Utilizes operational data to monitor and report specialty performance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Current license to practice in Texas in a related specialty is required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date.
Associate's degree in specialty or related field is required.
Bachelor's Degree in specialty or related field is preferred.
Five (5) years of progressive supervisory and leadership experience is required.
